Nightmares can be distressing and are common in those who have experienced traumatic events. Nightmare rescripting is a technique that allows you to change the storyline of a nightmare, helping your mind process it in a less distressing way. By creating a new, more positive or neutral ending, you can reduce the emotional impact and frequency of the nightmare over time.

Nightmare rescripting has been found to offer significant improvements in nightmare frequency, severity, and related distress among participants (Davis et al., 2011).

This worksheet allows space to reflect on nightmares, create an alternative ending, and also steps on how to use the new script.
